It is really hard to find time for yourself, and it seems more difficult when you have children who cry for your attention on demand, but for most, the older we get the harder and more tried we get from our hard grind from the week. If the London Transport hasn't taken the majority of your energy due to its annoying delays, then your stress levels will definitely wear you out.
I have learned that despite all of that I need to make time for me, it's a time where I can relax, reflect and do the things that my body needs and what makes me feel human again.
While I do not have the luxury of spa trips like many, scheduling self-care time in my daily crazy busy routine is important and much needed. I thought I should share some of my tips with you all.
Take Regular Breaks

I know it can be really hard to take regular breaks especially when you are busy dealing with important cases or issues. I know that I can easily get focused on the things I love doing and creating for my brand, so most times I cannot be bothered to take breaks to eat and drink, however, I had to be realistic with myself and create set times throughout the day to take regular breaks, trust me my body and mind thanked me for it. I do find that taking a break away allows your mind to relax and to recuperate, the last thing you want to do is burn yourself out at the start of the day.
Shower Time
If you are parents and have young ones constantly calling for you, and only you, to do things for them, even when there is more than one person that lives in your house, I find that shower time is my escape, my place, and space to shut myself away for a good couple of minutes. I love a shower and I like to pamper myself while I am in there too.
I love to use the" Tropical Moringa Body Wash" gently lifts away impurities, and awakens the senses! This antioxidant-rich formula instantly softens and conditions while delivering a rich, hydrating lather that cleanses and provides long-lasting moisture, and promotes healthy, supple skin. Infused with beta-carotene and vitamins A, C, D, and E to restore and hydrate skin, renew skin cells, protect against moisture loss, visibly transform and improve overall skin condition. It creates a moisturising barrier on the skin, providing a smooth, comfortable shave.
Lightly scented and perfectly balanced with natural vitamins and nutrients. At last, a complete, healthy skin solution that truly cares for our skin from top to bottom. I prep my skin with the use of "SheaMoisture African Black Soap Body Lotion", it provides moisture, balance, and comfort irritated skin. African Black Soap, made from palm ash, tamarind extract, tar, and plantain peel, helps to calm and clear blemishes and troubled skin. Leaves skin soft and refreshed. Perfect for helping relieve symptoms of eczema or psoriasis.

Indulgence
Treat yourself to something really nice and sweet, It makes the rest of your self-care routine complete, I like to indulge in the Alpro Hazelnut Chocolate Ice Cream, this is plant-based ice cream with less sugar and less saturated fats for 100ml it's 120 calories, I have this every now and then, but you can have whatever your hearts desire.
Work It Baby
I love a workout no matter how hard and tough it can be, it has become a part of my early morning routine, I wake up at 6 am every day but the weekends I start my workout an hour later than my usual weekday. I do a video for 1 hour some days or 30 minutes other days it depends on how I feel that morning, but for sure I know that I need to do some form of exercise otherwise it will not seem normal for me. Walking is just as good as a video or running, but whatever you do just make sure that you are working out at least 3-4 days a week. Do you have a routine in place to schedule your workouts? That way it will motivate you to be consistent and you will feel great too.
Switch Off Unplug
Switching off is hard to do for many with the temptation of browsing on social media platforms. I find it hard at first, but I realise that If I do not switch off or move away from any electrical devices, then housework, important chores, and the task will not get done.
When you have children I need to make sure that I have time scheduled to help them with their learning every day, it will benefit them in the long run. Engaging with my children in educational things is what I love to do with my two girls, in creating things and activities too.
You may feel like you are missing out on something, but there is more to life than social media, and your electrical devices, books are a great tool to have, feed your mind with knowledge, you can never have too much knowledge.
Self-care is about you and doing the things you want to do to take care of yourself, a time to relax so make great use of this time as you will be surprised how quickly it can go.
Seek New Things To Do
I don't know about you but I love to try new things, to create new things and look around for inspiration things that will inspire me to be more creative. Find that one thing that will make you happy, seek the things that you will enjoy doing, you will be surprised at what great things you can achieve in doing so. Many will say that I am a forward thinker, I like to think of new things or new ways of creating something that will work, or be beneficial for others, I get excited when I am socialising in groups and speaking with others about things that interest me. Find that happiness in the things you want to do and do it!
Gratitude
Every day you are breathing and you wake up to see the beautiful light of day, just speak a word of gratitude for that day. I don't know about you but when I wake up I do so with a song or to spend time with God, it makes my day run so much better. Tell yourself you are beautiful and money or success will flow your way in abundance, I had to teach myself that, it is hard to when things don't go right, but with faith, you can move all mountains, when you manifest these things into your life, success, money, happiness and believe it is here already, then you are there already!
Do you find self-care important? What things do you do to look after yourself that you can share with us?
Love
Claudine
