Having textured and unique curl patterns on our hair means that caring and styling our hair is all dependant on our curl pattern and learning about it, so we are aware of the types of products to use in our hair.

Those of you that has wavy hair will enjoy the body and bounce that your waves are giving you right now, but you want to make sure that you continue to tame and keep those nice bouncy curls.

What is wavy hair?

There a three different wavy hair texture that many of you may have, and each wavy pattern has to be tamed in a different way, meaning that the products that you use is specific to your hair texture and the way you use and care for your hair, will determine the outcome of your hair, remember what products you use in your hair may not work for someone that has a different wave pattern to you, so it is important to know what category your hair texture falls into, in order to understand what products best works in your hair.

Mistakes to avoid

> Do not shampoo too frequently
> Do not miss deep conditioning
> Do not towl dry your hair, use a microfibre hair turban or a t-shirt
> Do not use a comb or a brush on dry curls, this will cause your curls to expaand and frizz

Hair Types

Wavy hair has hair texture with loose S-shape curls, this hair type is listed as  or falls into this category "Type 2".  This hair includes light to very wavy hair patterns,  Wavy hair can be fine to medium or thick and coarse.

What does the numbers mean?

The numerical system of hair types is designed to establish what category your hair falls into and so the following numbers refers to, the amount of curl or wave your hair has.  Type 1 hair is always straight.  Type 2 hair indicates a slight wave to frizzy wave, and type 3 is curly hair and type 4 is kinky hair. The letters a,b,c are used to define the thickness of each strand, so a is thin, b is medium and c is thick.

2A hair type loose waves is usually fine and silky hair that is easy to manage.  It is resistant to bounce and frizz.  The curl pattern in this hair type forms a S shape and sticks clse to the head.  Type 2a hair type tends to be delicate and should be handled with TLC.

2B hair type are waves that are clearly defined and tightly drawn,  the hair still sticks closely to the head and doesnt bounce up.  This hair type carries frizz.

2C hair texture has waves that are tightly drawn and the curls tends to whirl around itself, forming a spiral curl, this type of hair is the frizziest of all than the other hair types, and you will find that hair does bounce up and poofs away from your face,

So for those of you that has wavy hair that is more on the straight side, you may lack volume in your hair, and for those that has waves that is in common with curly hair, you will find frizz and dryness in your hair, but do not make this your enermy, you just need to know how to manage and how to combat this problem.
