Henna is a great natural hair treatment that many naturals use to dye their hair or for many they use henna to form a really good hair treatment mask to achieve stronger and shinier hair, it is great for hair growth too.  I have been using henna as a treatment mask and this is my second time in using it, and so I decided to share how I create my mix as part of my hair regimen.

Let's look at the wonderful benefits of using henna:

Fact: Henna is known as Mehandi and a hair colouring used hundreds of years, but very symbolic in the modern fashion of men and women.

BENEFITS OF HENNA

* Henna improves your hair growth and it penetrates the hair shaft making your cuticles smooth, so in return, your hair is able to retain strength.
 * It reduces hair fall
* It prevents dandruff
* It is a great natural hair dye
* It reduces split ends
* It loosens your curl pattern temporarily
* It repairs damaged hair strands and restores the acid and alkaline balance of the scalp
* It is an amazing conditioner for hair that protects the hair strands by building a protective layer and locking the nutrients and moisture

Henna mixed with Alma & Shikakai has extremely great benefits for hair growth and healthy hair, these are used in the Ayurveda for the treating of hair and any scalp problems you may have.  You have the option of mixing all of the powers to form great benefits, or you can create a separate mix for each one.

I had fun creating my mix, however, I will try to create a mix using coconut cream just to see how my hair takes to the mixture, I don't think my hair took to well with the Aloe Vera Juice in it.

BENEFITS OF ALMA

*Alma: This powder is a dried Indian gooseberry it naturally supports healthy shiny hair and glowing skin.

*Alma powder boosts your natural curls and waves, in comparison to just using henna which can straighten your hair or gives you a relaxed hair texture, Why? Because henna coats and conditions the hair which will give you that blinding shine, and it has a relaxant property in it.

*Alma powder enhances dye uptake for those problematic roots and it will darken henna colours and it creates a cooler toned brown colour.

*Alma used on its own will give you that curl blasting power and it will enhance your hair's volume.

INGREDIENTS

x 3 teaspoons of Henna

x 3 teaspoons of Alma
x 3 teaspoons of Aloe Vera Juice
x 10-15 Drops of Lavender Oil
x Good amount of a moisturising conditioner of your choice.
x 1 Glass of warm water

TIPS!!

* Use an old towel or sheet to spread on the floor and a towel to spread over your shoulders

* Use gloves to make sure your hands are not dyed
* Make sure you use the best Henna powder it needs to be green in colour
* It is best to wash and condition your hair first before applying henna mask treatment to your hair, do not wash your hair with shampoo for at least 24 hours after using henna.
* To kill two birds with one stone, applying a conditioner into the henna mix will provide a deep conditioning treatment mask, so you are getting the best of both worlds from doing this, plus your hair will not be dry once your mix has been rinsed out!
