What is considered a "Healthy Scalp?", Did you know that there are ways to help develop a healthy scalp, but the question is how? Where do you start? What can I do to obtain a healthy scalp? The very first thing to consider is always a good change in your lifestyle, eating healthy and drinking plenty of water to help flush out toxins and more, is always a great starting point.  If you are many that have dull hair not "bad hair" I dislike that term  I mean how do you get "bad hair" "Unhealthy hair!" it is down to what you consume on a daily basis, the question is are you eating the vitamins and minerals that our body is craving for, or are you eating the wrong things to suppress those instant cravings that only works for a short period of time. There are ways to determine whether you have a healthy scalp, a healthy scalp tends to have open pores with a good blood flow, an unhealthy scalp is either dry, itchy, flaky or tender, and it can be too oily too.

Here are some lifestyle choices to consider:

Diet is one of the ways that can have an impact on our scalp and the health of it, what we consume always has an impact on the growth of our hair which is why it is important to ensure that we are taking the necessary vitamins and minerals. Vitamins you should be taking are Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin A, Biotin this helps to increase elasticity and prevents premature shedding, zinc, iron, folic acids and vitamin C.  Also look at ways in how you can incorporate a good diet plan, that you will follow and one that you can stick to, to help to obtain a healthy scalp plus a good healthy lifestyle in general, its hard work at the end of the day, but it will pay off remember consistency is the key!

Massaging your scalp on a daily basis helps to increase blood circulation, circulation determines the flow of oxygen to the scalp which produces a healthy scalp in order to help provide a steady hair growth.  Not only does this stop the excessive shedding of hair, it helps to reduce stress hormones that can have an impact on our hair growth cycle.

Exfoliating your scalp is just as important in helping to scale away any dead skin cells and any product build, dirt, dandruff anything that is clogging up the pores in your scalp, this gives your roots and ideal environment for hair growth.  There are several products you can use to help exfoliate your scalp such as  Kiehls Deep Micro-Exfoliating Scalp Treatment, this product helps to loosen flaky buildup and stimulates a healthy scalp.  Quidad Mediterranean Bay Leaf Exfoliating Hair and Scalp Treatment, this product is free of parabens and sulphates and of course, if you prefer to make your own you can by using brown sugar mixed with tea tree oil, coconut oil, or olive oil and you can add essential oils of your choice.

The Scalp Invigorator

The Scalp Invigorator is a brilliant investment when it comes to a really good scalp massage.  It has a vibrating hand-held and waterproof brush that is designed to help stimulate your scalp and blood flow.  It is so relaxing that all that stress you had for that day, when you use this tool it helps to relieve that.  I like how easy it is to travel around with you, it comes in different colours, it is affordable, very light weight but with two years warranty, batteries and a screwdriver for easy install you cannot complain.  It is very easy to clean and you can use this when shampooing your hair or you can use this in the evenings when applying oils to your scalp, to help massage that throughout your entire head of hair. I like to use this scalp massage more in the evenings to help to spread the oils, cream or leave-in that I apply to my hair in the evening.

The Scalp Invigorator helps to promote a healthier scalp, it helps to control dandruff, it lifts away dead skin cells, its waterproof and massages and invigorates your scalp.  You can purchase this brush from Mylifemyshop.com, this was gifted to me by my dearest friend Nadine Pascal who purchased this Scalp Invigorator and the Vitagoods Scalp Massage Shampoo Brush for me to try, she has beautiful thick hair guys, go check out her Instagram page and show her some love https://www.instagram.com/nshontellp/

Vitagoods Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush

You can also use the Scalp Invigorator to exfoliating your scalp also, but I like to use the Vitagoods Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush for shampooing and exfoliating my hair. The Vitagoods Scalp Massage Shampoo Brush helps to control dandruff, it lifts away dead skin cells, it promotes a healthy scalp it massages and invigorates your scalp and it is waterproof also. While it is doing all these great things for your scalp did you know that it increases the blood circulation to keep hair healthy and clean? This brush comes in four different colours, white, purple, black and light green colour. It is simple and easy to use and to clean, it is great to use for kids and adults to shampoo their hair it cost $40.00 which is around £30.50.

It is easy to hold and handle, it can be used on wet and dry hair, it has a flexible plastic bristle messaging, the vibration feature provides that scalp stimulation, it takes 1 AA battery. I do find that the vibration can be a bit much, perhaps they should have a setting depending on how much a vibration you want, but apart from that this brush is just as good as the Scalp Invigorator, in fact, it is much cheaper, but like them both!

Have you used any of the above Massage brushes before? What do you think of them?
