The Low Down

I would like to present to you my view and opinion on Shea Moisture Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner.  This product has Shea Butter, Peppermint & Keratin, it is made for natural, chemically processed colour treated or heat styled hair.  The purpose behind making this leave-in conditioner is to help nourish and repair your hair, so each time you apply a generous amount of product in your hair it will soften and make detangling easier for you and at the same time, it will control frizz.  The formulas used in this leave-in conditioner are Jamaican Black Castor Oil which is great for healthy hair growth and organic Shea Butter which moisturises and conditions hair and scalp, and peppermint that helps to stimulate your scalp, they all help to nourish, and to provide moisture and supports elasticity, preventing your hair from breakage during the detangling process.

The Main Benefit

Leave-in conditioners are what I consider the foundation of all things after you have washed, conditioned or deep treated your hair, before you apply any other product to your hair, you need to apply the leave-in conditioner first this will help seal in the moisture inside every strand for longer and prepares your hair for the next course of action, not only does it help with detangling it will hydrate your hair and protect your hair too.  What I look for in a good leave-in conditioner is one with great slip, and a not too thick consistency, but once applied to hair, it must make my hair feel moisturised, easy to detangle and makes my hair feel very soft and hydrated.  I am not bothered about the smell, I am more interested in how effective the leave-in conditioner is for my hair.

My hair is coloured and I know that I need a good leave-in conditioner that is colour safe and one that will provide protection to my strands, that nourishes and strengthen my hair and will nourish my ends preventing split ends and dryness.  My go to leave- in conditioner is Aunt Jackies Curl Quench purely because it does all that I look for in a really good leave-in conditioner, however, first time using the Shea Moisture Strengthen and Restore Leave-in, I can truly say, my hair the next day and the day after and the day after my hair felt soft, moist and so nice to touch my curls were still defined and I am blown away, why I didn't consider using this product before I never now.

My hair felt nourish from the root to tip, I have nothing negative to say about this leave-in conditioner, apart from the fact that I need a much bigger tub.  The consistency is not too thick, it is a  nice and creamy mixture it reminds me of a sweet smelling batter that is very subtle in smell it smells almost like vanilla,  a batter that is not thick but the right consistency.  This product when applied is lightweight, it melts into each of my strands like butter melts into a heated pan in minutes, just how I like a leave-in conditioner to do, like I said your hair is hydrated for a good couple of days, you do not need to delve into the tube to re-moisture your hair that is how good this product is you get the picture.

The product comes in a 431 ml tube with a 12-month shelf life,  the price I paid was £8.66 from Superdrug on offer but the usual price is £12.99.  Boots still has the offer on the Shea Moisture range, so head over quick before they get sold out or the price increases.  I ordered mine online with Superdrugs and I got the package in two working days, so I was pleased with that.

The reason I would suggest this leave-in conditioner is the fact that it detangles my hair very well, melting away all my tangles with such ease, my curls are so defined and extremely bouncy even if I use this product by itself, I can pull my hair and it bounces back without breaking, my hair is left feeling soft, and moist for a good couple of days I say 3 days maybe more but I have used this for three days so lets see what day four has to say I will keep you posted on Instagram!

I love the fact that this product is accessible in Boots and Superdrug as well as online shops such as Amazon, British Curls and more,.  I hope I have highlighted key areas of this product for you, do leave me a comment or give this article a thumbs up if you like!

Have you used this leave-in conditioner before? What are your thoughts? Would you recommend?
