So guys, I always wanted to make my own homemade green tea cleanser, but being mind full of pH balancing and ensuring that whatever I make or buy, I test it to make sure it is the pH range, appropriate for my  hair.  There are so many homemade mixtures out there, and ones that you really do have to be care full of making, for example, baking soda and lemon juice are two ingredients that are out of the pH range of 4.0 and 7.0, not good for your hair at all.  Check out my last article on balancing pH for Natural Hair click here

I decided on using green tea mixed with apple cider vinegar, why? Because green tea has a pH of 6.0 - 6.4 and apple cider vinegar has a pH of 2.8 -3.0, I thought this combo would make a great mixture along with raw honey based on its great properties in conditioning and for its humectant property.

Benefits of Green Tea

Green tea is full of antioxidants that helps with dandruff, psoriasis and any other scalp conditions you may have.  Green tea also contains vitamins C,D & E as well as vitamin B5, it is a great stimulate for hair follicles that helps to increase healthy hair growth and helps to reduce hair loss.

Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has natural antibiotic and antibacterial properties that balances the pH of your scalp, as well as removing dead skin cells.  It is a natural remedy for those that suffer from hair thinning and hair loss.  This is a great hair rinse for washing away any excess oils from your hair and scalp without dehydrating your hair, it leaves your hair conditioned.

Benefits of Honey

Check out my article for the benefits of using this baby in your hair click here

Recipe.....

What you need:

Raw Honey ( 1 tablespoon)
Water ( Boiled and cooled)

Step One

I used one green tea bag in 3 cups of water and allowed it to brew for 30 minutes.  I combined the rest of the other ingredients together, ensuing that the honey is mixed well into the mixture, once the tea had cooled I combined it in the mixture, mixed it well, and poured it into the spray bottle.

Step Two

Your hair is ready to be sectioned, rinse hair with water first, now you are ready for the green tea rinse, apply to hair and scalp thoroughly and using your fingers to gently message your scalp.  Do this method for the other sections of your hair.

Step Three

Allow your hair to marinade for 5 minutes, then rinse your hair! Style to your desire

The benefit of making your own homemade cleanser, and this one in particular, is that is strips your hair of all impurities without making your hair feeling dry but well conditioned.  That is what I look for in a great homemade cleanser.
